Eminent Point Baptist Church was founded 100 years ago by William "Button" Seawell, a man who, after being released from slavery, dedicated his life to building a sanctuary for worship and community on the very land where our church stands today. His son, Ages Seawell, served as the first pastor, guiding the congregation with wisdom and compassion. Both men, along with many other devoted members, are laid to rest on these sacred grounds, their legacy a cornerstone of our church’s identity.
